CENTURIES OF
COMMUNIY
CENTURIES OF
COMMUNIY
Bar Cross Ranch has long been a part of Sublette County and the Cora community, even if miles of open country stretch between front doors. Out here, neighbors are still neighbors — whether you’re waving from a saddle, meeting at the post office, or swapping stories at a local eatery during dinner. The connections may be few, but they run deep.
We’re proud to share in the privilege and responsibility of looking out for one another. This bond, built on trust and respect, is what makes life in the Green River Valley region of Wyoming so enduring.
It’s the kind of community you carry with you for life.

THERE ARE MANY BARS TO OUR SONG.
Ownership may have changed hands through the years, but Bar Cross Ranch holds a living spirit that endures. Each generation, each steward, leaves their mark while carrying forward a legacy bigger than themselves. The ranch has long been a source of inspiration; to musicians, artists, writers, and the quiet cowboys who found themselves lost in thought against the vast sweep of land.
From the ranch hands of a century ago to those of us here today, the story is the same: the land has a way of shaping people. We are caretakers, inheritors of both privilege and duty, bound to ensure this place remains protected and respected.
THE
WILD
QUIET
LIFE
On any given day, the happenings at Bar Cross might look simple — a stretch of fencing repaired, an irrigation ditch cleared and widened, or a gate rewired and swung back into place. Infrastructure work and maintenance form the backbone of ranch life, but they don’t define it entirely.
There’s also the quiet joy of stepping back and watching the land breathe. Riding out in the morning, the dew still clinging to the sagebrush and grass, the clouds sweeping over the mountain tops as the warmth of the sun pushes towards the flowers scattered on the hillside, beckoning their presence to face it. The animals stir, the wind awakens, and your senses are brought forward, recognizing that this land creates a harmony all its own.
Time here doesn’t demand the same urgency you find elsewhere. It passes softly, almost imperceptibly, until suddenly you realize you’ve been witness to another season changing, another chapter written in the wild quiet of the Green River Valley of Wyoming.

A LAND THAT'S BIGGER THAN WORDS CAN DESCRIBE
This is a working ranch, and that means the work is never done. Equipment is modernized, roads are improved, waterways are tended, and cattle are managed with care. Every decision is part of a bigger picture — keeping the ranch viable today while ensuring it thrives tomorrow.
But amid progress, we never lose sight of the stories underfoot. The stone foundations, hand-cut ditches, and weathered posts of early homesteaders remain scattered across the land. These relics stand as a testament to the grit of those who came before, a reminder that our story is only the latest in a lineage that stretches back over a century. We celebrate the past, the families who endured to bring us to where we are today, and the work put towards building a brighter tomorrow.

The land that surrounds us is rare in it’s expansiveness, and it’s a very special place. Not everyone will understand it, and not everyone needs to. But if you know, you know. And for those of us who do — we’re grateful to be here, living and working as a part of this remarkable place.
