ACCOUNTABILIY
FOR MILES

At Bar Cross Ranch, we work with much more than the land and the waterways. We protect what moves across it. This land is home to more than just cattle and horses. The operations of the ranch manage the balance between the natural and the purposeful.
Daily operations include livestock, cultivation, facilities, wildlife, and water. The work is done by cowboys in the traditional sense of the term, along with devoted equipment, animal, land, and ranch management experts. Dedicated employees live and work on the ranch year-round, with seasonal help from the local community lending a hand as the tasks require. Often, employees are second or third generation in their families to work at Bar Cross or come from the families that established the land now part of the ranch.
Part of how we approach our work each day is guided by a code that everyone here agrees to. It happens to be one you might be familiar with. Bar Cross Ranch has adopted the Wyoming Cowboy Code of Ethics as its own operating framework for the ranch's business in the community and across the state. To help you recall and know what we live by . . .
The Code Of The West
As adopted by the State of Wyoming and Bar Cross Ranch
Live each day with courage.
Take pride in your work.
Always finish what you start.
Do what has to be done.
Be tough, but fair.
When you make a promise, keep it.
Ride for the brand.
Talk less and say more.
Remember that some things aren't for sale.
Know where to draw the line.

SEEING THE BEAUTY
AND STRENGTH OF THIS LAND HAS BEEN KNOWN TO TAKE ONE’S BREATH AWAY.
DAILY.
LIVING
RIGHT
NEXT TO
NATURE.
Bar Cross Ranch borders the Bridger-Teton National Forest, and that proximity carries a deep responsibility. What happens here directly impacts the broader landscape, the grasslands we manage, the water we safeguard, and the infrastructure we build. All of which connect to a system far larger than the ranch itself. We take this closeness seriously, knowing that our stewardship must respect both the working needs of a modern ranch and the untamed rhythm of the land beyond.
For centuries, herds of elk, deer, and antelope have followed migratory paths that cross through the Bridger-Teton National Forest and over the ranch lands. These routes are as old as the land itself and remain vital to wildlife survival today. Keeping these passages open and healthy means every creature can move as the seasons demand, ensuring the ecosystem remains balanced.
The highland pastures above the forest and the Green River Drift serve an essential role for ranches throughout this region, including Bar Cross Ranch. The grazing quality of these pastures feeds cattle and calves through critical stages of the year. Caring for this land means caring for everything that depends on it.

Every corner holds a different story.
The pockets of beauty on Bar Cross Ranch are as numerous as they are unforgettable. Tucked away throughout the ranch, these special places carry their own spirit, waiting to be discovered. No two are the same, and each has a way of speaking to you differently. With every visit, the land reveals new hints of beauty, reminding you this is a place where every corner holds its own quiet wonder.
